Browse by period, researcher, theory or classification. Select an event for historical context, evidence, references and related work.
Dates indicate a publication or event, not necessarily the beginning of a career. Dates labelled “c.” are approximate. Cards are ordered chronologically within broad periods; their horizontal spacing is not proportional to elapsed time.
The Atlas distinguishes historical influence from current scientific support. Its connections are curated conceptual relationships; they do not necessarily establish that one researcher directly influenced another. Sources lead to primary research or reputable background material, but a link alone does not independently validate every statement. The complete editorial audit is ongoing.
Photographs and historic illustrations are fetched from Wikimedia Commons only when open-reuse licence metadata can be retrieved. Image credits and source links appear below each image; when permission cannot be confirmed, the Atlas uses a labelled placeholder. Some portraits require internet access.
